Cosmetic Resin Bonding
Cosmetic resin bonding is a painless procedure that produces excellent cosmetic results. It is an ideal treatment option for deeply stained or discolored teeth and for repairing chipped or broken teeth. Cosmetic resin bonding does not reduce the tooth’s original structure and is relatively inexpensive.
What happens during the procedure?
- A mild acid is applied to the tooth to give it a textured surface.
- The resin is then applied directly to the surface of the tooth and hardened using a high-intensity light.
- A white, non-transparent layer is applied to cover the stain. After this layer is hardened, a more durable layer is applied; giving the tooth a more natural appearance.
In order to ensure the longest possible duration of the bonding you should brush and floss daily.
